Psalm 37:23 -24| GOD IS CLOSER THAN YOU THINK
When we fail, make mistakes, face hardships, or go through seasons of weakness, it is easy to feel as though God is distant or unconcerned with what is happening in our lives. But Scripture presents a very different picture—one of God’s nearness, especially when it feels like we are falling.
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.” – Psalm 37:23–24
The word steps
points to the daily journey of a life that depends on God. This passage does
not promise the absence of hardship, but it does give the assurance of God’s
helping hand.
Think of a
father catching a child who is about to fall. That rescue is only possible
because the father is close enough to hold the child. In the same way, our
Heavenly Father is never far from us. He sustains, lifts us up, and restores us
when we stumble.
The enemy
may try to convince us that God is distant or unconcerned, hoping we will give
in to fear, distress, or complaint. But just as with Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, God is present even in the fire. He never left. What often changes is
our perspective.
Today,
Scripture invites us to focus on the One who sustains, strengthens, and upholds
us when we stumble. Hardship may be temporary, but the truth of His presence is
constant.
Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for Your presence in my life. You are with me. You sustain me.
You uphold me.”
