PSALM 28:7 | THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH

 Do you ever feel as though everything around you has suddenly fallen apart? In moments like that, where do you find the strength to face another day? When life depends only on our own ability, it is easy to become discouraged, lose hope, or live in constant fear of what tomorrow may bring.

Today’s scripture reminds us where true and lasting strength is found.

“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise him.” – Psalm 28:7

This is the kind of inner strength that enables us to endure, stand firm, move forward, and overcome life’s challenges. Such strength does not come from within ourselves—it flows from dependence on God. He is the true source of strength.

David also calls God “my shield.” A shield stays close to the one it protects. In the same way, when God is your shield, He remains near to you even in moments when you feel most exposed. You are never alone.

At times, God shields us from certain attacks. At other times, He allows us to face them—not to harm us, but to build our inner strength, shape our character, align our hearts with His will, and deepen our dependence on Him.

And here is something the enemy cannot stand: praise in the middle of trouble. When you choose to praise God instead of complaining, you shift your focus from the problem to the One who holds your life in His hands.

So praise Him—not because of what is happening around you, but because of who He is and the work He is accomplishing in your life.

Today, declare with confidence:

“The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.”
