PSALM 27:5 | GOD OUR REFUGE IN TROUBLE

Life can sometimes lead us into seasons where we feel exposed to its many challenges. When difficulties rise from every side, our natural response is to look for a place of safety—somewhere trouble cannot reach us.

The psalmist not only points us to our Refuge but also reminds us of God’s promise:

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.” – Psalm 27:5

While the troubles of life are inevitable, God’s presence is certain. His help is not distant; it is personal. Even when trouble surrounds you, God lifts you to a place of safety where the enemy cannot steal your peace, your joy, or your confidence in Him.

Perhaps you are experiencing troubling times right now. The enemy may try to convince you that you are cornered and without help. He hopes you will turn to places where he can still reach and control you—through fear, despair, or destructive escapes such as alcohol or drugs.

But God’s promise is different. He lifts you higher—to a place where the enemy cannot dominate your heart or dictate your future. God Himself becomes your refuge, your protector, and the One you can run to in every season of trouble.

If today feels like a day of trouble, may you find comfort and strength in this promise.

Declare with unwavering confidence:

“God is my help and my shelter in times of trouble. I am not alone—He fights for me.”
