PSALM 27 | THE LORD IS MY LIGHT

 When life leads you into dark seasons, it is easy to feel afraid of the uncertainties ahead. Yet Scripture invites us to see our situation from a different perspective.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

When God is with you, even in life’s most difficult moments, fear has no rightful place in your heart. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. He placed the stars in the sky and gives you the very breath you breathe. He is the stronghold of your life—your refuge and your security.

The confidence to take the next step of faith comes from understanding the enduring presence of God in your life. He has never abandoned you. He has always been with you.

The enemy will often whisper thoughts of fear, hoping to shift your attention away from the One who is with you and onto the circumstances surrounding you. This is how worry, fear, anxiety, and despair begin to take hold. But Scripture reminds us of God’s promise of protection.

Later the psalmist declares:

“For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.” – Psalm 27:5

When the Lord is your light, He draws near to you. He protects, shields, and sustains you even in the day of trouble.

Today, declare with confidence:

“The Lord is my light. My salvation. My stronghold. I will not be afraid.”
