Let the Morning Speak of His Love
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.” – Psalm 143:8
Each morning, when we wake up, it’s
a reminder of God’s unfailing love for each one of us. It’s a good way to start
your day to know that the Most High God loves you and cares for you. Even before
you opened your eyes, God was already thinking good about you. When you know
that you have an overflow of God’s love in your life, you will carry on your
day with confidence by putting your trust in Him.
As David writes, “Show me the
way I should go” reflects surrendering our lives over to Him. God knows
what’s best for each one of us better than we do, and when we surrender the
control or the reins over to Him, He will be able to direct our lives to the
best place He wants us to be. Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust the LORD with all your
heart…and He will make your paths straight.”
Each day carries its own
challenges and problems. Rather than being worrisome and depressed, we can choose
to hide in God’s presence. We can turn to God for protection and comfort when troubles
of this life come against us. Often, we rely on our own efforts and resources to
feel secure. But that will not stand against the schemes of the enemy; it’s
only through God’s help that we can feel at peace and find refuge in Him.
Psalm 143 encourages us to have a
teachable heart. A heart that doesn’t just know the will of God but lives it. As
we surrender our hearts to God and live according to His will, the Holy Spirit becomes
our guide to righteousness and through the Holy Spirit, we find peace and
stability even in the midst of uncertainty.
Reflection Thought:
Psalm 143 is a reminder that each
day before the sun rises, God’s love in your life has already gone ahead of
you. You can relax and rest your confidence in God, knowing that He loves you,
He cares for you and has good things in store for you. As you start your day,
know that God is still in control and let His Spirit guide and protect you as
you continue trusting and acknowledging God in all your ways.
Prayer:
Our Father in Heaven, we thank
you for your unending love that is new and fresh each morning. Thank you for
your ever-present help in times of trouble. We believe that your presence goes
ahead of us, leading, guarding and providing us with your peace through your
Spirit, in Jesus' name, amen.
