The Missing Ingredient
“All things work together for good
to those who love God” – Romans 8:28
I love to cook. Cooking
is one of my favorite things that I do each day. When I am in the kitchen
making my favorite meal, there are ingredients that are very essential in the process
for without them the food would be tasteless. A master chef would tell you, to
cook the best meal, one must know what ingredients to add and when to add them.
All the ingredients must come together
to make the food taste good.
In the same way, God is
the Master Chef. He knows the end from the beginning, He knows all the
ingredients that we may need, and when to add them and how to add them. When
all the ingredients are mixed together, it brings good taste in the end.
Very often we get sour,
sad and sometimes angry because of the missing ingredient in our lives. We are
no longer patient to wait for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together.
There are times when we go through the difficult moments in life when things
seem tasteless. A season when even relationships become tasteless, tasteless career
or everything seems to be going down. What was once lovely is no longer joyful.
This is because there is a missing ingredient in our lives.
Friends, be encouraged.
The missing ingredient is coming your way. God is about to add that missing
ingredient to make your life tasteful, juicy and lovely once again. What you
are going through is only part of the process to make your life better. The
heat may be high for you right now, but that’s fine. Once everything are put
together and done, you will look back and say: ‘Those difficult moments was worth it’, because you can now taste
the sweetness of the reward after the trials.
Don’t go about your day
complaining with questions in your mind like: Why me? Why do I have to go through all these things? What did I do to
deserve all these mistreatments, or why is life so unfair to me? No. Let go
of such negative and victim mentality and have a new perspective about your
life. God is only preparing you for something better. With everything that God
works on always ends well. If all is not well with you, then you can relax and
know God is cooking something good in the kitchen. And soon you will be served
with His very best of His work. With every obstacle comes both danger and
opportunity. The danger is having a negative mentality. The opportunity is to
hope and expect the very best that God is preparing you for.
However much difficult
the obstacles may be, don’t give up. Stay in faith and trust that God is working
something better for you, for in due time all things will work together for
your good. Be hopeful for the good that awaits you.
