Do Not Weep
When the Lord saw her, He had
compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep’ – Luke 7:13
The struggles that we
face in life have a way of pushing us down, to the point where we give up in
life, the only hope we had gets dimmed, and you just can’t find any reason to
be joyful. Sometimes the pain of losing people whom we love can be unbearable. You
wonder how you will be able to navigate your journey in life without them.
Losing your loved is painful and challenging especially when they were like a
pillar of strength, hope, and protection for your life.
When we go through
seasons of grief in our life, very often you may be tempted to think that you
are alone, forgotten and exposed. It is a season where questions of doubt,
questions of fear, and uncertainty continue to bombard your mind. As you weep
with tears in your eyes, you don’t see clearly the road ahead. You wonder; how
will I get through this? How will life be without my life-long partner, someone
that I loved and cared for? Has God really let me down? How do I deal with this
pain?
Jesus is encouraging you
today, “Do not weep.” God knows the
pain you feel in your heart, He knows the questions of doubt that have filled
your mind, He understands where you are right now and He has great compassion
for you. Be encouraged for you are neither forsaken nor forgotten. God is right
there with you. Closer to you than you think and He wants to help you get
through such difficult time of grief.
The season may be hard
for you but be encouraged, for “The Lord
is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” [Psalm
34:18]. God has you in his plans, plans to comfort you “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” [Mathew 5:4],
plans to restore joy back into you “Weeping
may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” [Psalm 30:5] and
plans to strengthen you “those who hope
in the Lord will renew their strength” [Isaiah 40:31]
You may have lost a
friend, family member and thought that this is the end of your story. But be
encouraged, this is not the end but a new beginning. God has amazing plans for
you, and He’s about to turn the situation around for you so that when you get
out of this season you are more blessed, with more joy in your heart and a song
of God’s goodness in your heart. Rest your hope in the Lord, He will never
disappoint you. Rejoice in your heart for you are not alone, you still have a
friend who loves you more and his name is Jesus.
When you grieve it
doesn’t make you imperfect, it makes you human. Honor those who you have lost
by reliving their memory, by taking a step of faith and choosing to move
forward. The people you have lost wouldn’t want you to live the rest of your
life sad, hopeless and miserable. I believe because you loved them, they would want
you to live joyfully, hopefully, and overcoming the pain of grief because they
are in a better place.
You may feel weak but
God sees the strength in you, it may feel like the end for you but God is
opening a new chapter. The road ahead may seem unclear for you, but God sees
everything clearly. Put your trust in the Lord, and lean on Him and He will
guide you through the treacherous path. Be blessed.
“My flesh
and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
– Psalm 73:26
