By obeying, God reveals Himself to us

“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” – Isaiah 1:19

By habitually obeying God’s voice in our lives, our relationship with God continues to grow stronger and God also reveals Himself to us more. When we are drawn closer to God through our obedience to Him, we get to know Him even better. The true nature of God gets revealed to us, thereby strengthening our faith and love. Through the close relationship that we develop with God, we understand His faithfulness to His word.

Our willingness to obey God helps us to understand who God really is. When we obey His command, we then understand that God is always faithful to His word. Very often, we have heard God speaking to our hearts; instructing us to do a simple thing but as usual we argue with His voice. Like Moses, when God instructed him to back to Egypt and deliver His people. He came up with excuses and questions of “What if they won’t believe me” and “What if pharaoh won’t let us leave?” but when he did what God asked him to do; he understood that God is always faithful to His word. God did what He said He would do.

Whatever that God is asking you and I to do, it is important to understand that He won’t leave you alone nor forsake you. He will be with you, guiding your every step, protecting you in every way and sustaining you with all that you may need as you continue to accomplish His will. He’s Jehovah Jireh, God the provider. Deep down you may have heard God’s voice telling you to start a business, take care of someone, write a book, give a donation or simply give a friend a call or paying them a visit. But in your mind, you wonder: “from where can I even start?” or “Is it really God speaking to me?”, “Do I even have the resources to do it?”. Don’t let doubt or lack of resources stop you from beginning what God intends for you to finish.

Instead of debating about it and arguing with it, simply obey God’s voice. What you need God already knows and He’ll provide. Remember, God is always faithful and what He said He will do, it will be done. Obey and take that step of faith and do it because you love God and knowing He’s guiding you to the right path. As He said, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” With obedience comes a reward. You don’t have to miss God’s reward because of disobedience.

Through our obedience to God, we understand that God is love. God wants us to have the very best things in life. More joy, peace, success, more blessing. Why? Because He loves us. Christ Jesus obeyed God even to the point of death so that we may be saved. What a faithful and loving God we have. God’s faithfulness is a testament to His unfailing love for us.

“When I doubt my own abilities, I find solace in God’s faithfulness to equip and empower me.”
